On this day, you will be met at the airport / hotel and taken to the city of Karakol, which is located near the Issyk-Kul lake. The road runs through the beautiful Boom gorge, after which a view of the lake opens. During the trip, you can relax in the car, enjoying the view outside the window. After lunch you will arrive in Karakol. A guide will help you to check-in the guest house.
After breakfast transfer to Karakol gorge. The car will take you to the beginning of the trekking route, from where you will start climbing to the camping site “Sirota” (2800m). Lunch on the road. In the evening you will arrive at the camp, where the guide will set up tents and prepare dinner.
This day is an acclimatization day. On this day you will see one of the most beautiful high-mountain lakes of Kyrgyzstan – Lake Ala-Kol. You will pass from its beginning to the end and pass through the Takyrtor pass to the Chon-Uzen gorge. Lunch on the way. In the gorge of Chon-Uzen, the guide will make a dinner and set up a camp at an altitude of 3,500 meters.
After an early breakfast, you will climb the Hatidja Pass to the ABC base camp. On the way you will enjoy a beautiful panorama of the glaciers and rocks. You will also visit the hottest wild springs at an altitude of 4000 meters. Then the guide organizes the camp.
Today you will climb Palatka peak, located at an altitude of 4650 meters. After a hearty breakfast, you will begin climbing the rocky-ice slope. Having conquered the summit, you will go down to the camp at the Hatidja Pass (3,900 meters), where you will stay overnight in tents.
After breakfast, you will go down to the ABC base camp (4000 meters). The guide will arrange a tent camp for you together with dinner.
On this day, you will go to the Altyn-Arashan gorge (2500 m), where you can swim in hot springs. Then, after having lunch, you will go down to the transport, which will take you back to the guest house in Karakol.
Reserve day in case of bad weather.
After an early breakfast, transfer to the airport / hotel in Bishkek. The road will also pass along the shore of the Issyk-Kul lake and through the gorge, so you will always be accompanied by a wonderful view outside the window!
You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summer time the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 oC and in the mountains the temperature decreases to -5 oC. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
You need to have with you: mountain boots, cats, safety system, 5 carbines, ice ax, helmet.
Recommended: rain-coat, sweater/fleece, wind-stopper, enough t-shirts and other underwear (think of taking smth with long sleeves to avoid sunburns), hat (remember – the sun can be violent), sun-screen cream (30 or higher), insect repellent (skin + clothes), good trekking boots for easy hikes in the mountains, walking shoes (don’t need heavy ones) for the city walks, flash light (torch).
Personal first aid kit (most likely problems: blisters, sunburns, allergy, diarrhoea, sore muscles after hikes. Take painkillers, anti-histaminic, antibiotics of general action, and anything you need for your usual medical conditions), personal hygiene kit (disinfection gel is highly recommended) + some toilet paper.
A small towel, swimming suit (for Issyk-Kul), sunglasses, photo camera, notepad and a pen to make notes as you travel, a smaller backpack, except for your normal suitcase.
